Hi to all,
I worked the contest from CN92wh. We rented the Forest Service, Drake
Peak Lookout, 8220', Lake County, Oregon. Weather was ideal, beautiful
sunshine during the day and a million stars shining at night.
Drawback to this site is interference from commercial radio gear,
especially to 6m and lessor extent to 2m when pointed at
Portland/Seattle.
Best tropo contact was with VA7ISL, CN88(489 miles) on multiple bands,
cw. K7TM, DN27 and K7HPT/r DN15/16 were good copy on multiple bands. To
the south, worked WA6KLK, CM89 on 4 bands including 1296, (252 miles).
Although I worked Len in CM89 on 1296, I need to work on my 1296 rx.
Fred, WA7TZY, CN87(388 miles) copied my cw, unfortunately, I did not
hear him.
Though we worked on other bands, W7ID, Jeff in DN13 and I tried 1296
more than once, including JT65c. Nothing was heard in either direction.
Jeff needs only one more qso for VUCC on 1296.
Longest 6m meteor scatter was with K5DOG in DM52, New Mexico.
Rough score was 5200 points.
Thanks to all for the q's.
