Hi, all.
Several of us will be roving with ten bands (and one with four bands) this weekend. We start in DM13, then DM03 and up through DM04 into the Antelope Valley and Mojave area (DM05) by Saturday night. Sunday we head over to Kettleman City to activate CM95, DM06 and CM96. We'll be looking in both directions on or near the usual calling frequencies from there. During our plentuiful enroute time both days, we'll call and/or monitor SSB on 6, 2 and 432 and FM on 146.550 and 146.580, 223.500, 446.000 and 1294.500. We'll move bands on request and announce as we get close or into new grid squares. The antennas point rearward during travel, so they'll favor stations to the south as we make our way north.
Heads-up for those of you in the San Diego area: the PAPA repeater system picnic runs from 9:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Double Peak Park in San Marcos, and many of the attendees will be trolling the simplex calling frequencies, providing a potential pool of additional contacts for you on several bands.
Thanks for all the contacts in the recent contests, and hope to talk with you this weekend. For those of you attending the ARRL Southwestern Division Convention the following weekend, please drop by the ARRL booth for an eyeball QSO.
Good luck, and 73
Marty N6VI
