Thanks for the info! I have also found an FT-736R group on Yahoo and I have
learned that TRX-Manager is still very useful even if one has to rely on
unilateral software control by the computer and software since the FT-736R
manual controls are inoperable when the FT-736R is placed in CAT mode. My
understanding from postings on the FT-736R Yahoo group is that TRX-Manager
may be the best available for the FT-736R and I can use the software to
control many other transceivers as well as the FT-736R in addition to all
the logging and band display capabilities. In any event I intend to go ahead
and download a demo copy later today and try it out. If I like it then I can
simply pay the approx $69 licensing fee for a full license. Thanks again and

PS FYI I will also be testing the software's capabilities to control my
Icom IC-775DSP and Icom IC-751As for starters. This may take a while :-)

"The Yaesu FT-736 is incapable of sending band and mode data to the  
computer.  The TRX-Manager display does not update as you manually  
manipulate the rig."
