SOAPBOX: Dismal activity level from the L.A. area!! One ssb station heard in 
DM12 in extended rag-chew; 146.55 & 146.58 FM busy with ACS/RACES/DCS nets for 
1st hour. All but 4 QSOs were with local club members: 2 Ventura Co. 
(CA)clubs had been specifically alerted that the Sprint was on. Had nice 15 minute 
rag-chew with 2 stations in DM05 over the 5000'+ mountain range to the north of 
me. Nil heard North of DM05 by me or the DM05 guys. FT100D + 5 elements on 
hilltop within Thousand Oaks, CA. ARRL needs to again sponsor & publish Sprints
