Thanks to the rover stations (you know who you are)!!!! Between 6M openings
and working the usual deserving big guns (you know who you are) the rover
stations added additional excitement (and grid multipliers and QSOs on new
bands) for me. In addition to appreciating your providing us with excitement
and higher scores in this contest I admire your guts, stamina and hard work.
I don't know about the rest of the participants but I was really beat out
after 24 hours of contesting and I didn't have to go in harms way as you
guys (and ladies) did during the contest by driving between grid squares
while working us at the same time.
Thanks also to the persistent and gracious operators who worked me on 1296
MHz with my pitiful wimpy 10 watts. I promise to use best efforts to QRO on
1296 MHz and to put up at least a 44 element array at my CM 99 summer cabin
by the time of the August contest and to finish putting up a new tower on
the south east slope and out of the forest just for 1296 MHz. Some assembly
still required. The new 1296 MHz tower (a US Tower self supporting tubular
crank up MA-550 with the MARB base) and the Heliax feed line are on site and
the tower base is dug put we wont be pouring the concrete for the base until
next month. 1296 MHz does not appreciate my 130 feet tall pine trees
blocking the current 1296 MHz antenna position's view to the east and south.
:-).
Thanks again!!! 73, Ted, K6XN operating from CM 99 in the Sierras from my
"summer cabin" last weekend.
