[Wswss] GPS & Maiden head grid squares

That is pretty much what I  have found also.  The Automotive types do not 
display the Maidenhead Grid Square.  Many of the Handheld types do like the 
GPS III and GPS V, as well as the GPS 76, and so on.  Some of them display 
the grid square only in the Compass or Bearing page, but my GPSMAP 60CSx 
displays the Maidenhead Grid on the Map page that shows the roads and points 
of interest and so on.  This model also has the Barometric Altimeter which 
gives you accurate elevation readings, and also has an electronic Compass 
feature.  The GPSMAP 60cs and CSx have an Micro SD slot for memory upgrade 
as well.  I have all of the US and most of Canada on one 2 GB Micro SD card 
on mine.

Usually, the handheld devices would be used for things like Geo caching and 
things of this nature, where grid square locators COULD perhaps be used to 
find the treasure or whatever you are looking for.  It is a good idea to 
look at the manual if possible to see if the "Position Format" has 
Maidenhead as one of the options.
