Hello Pop,
I appreciate your offer to provide optimized 220 MHz designs for us over here ;-)
As I explained in my previous email, most of the 220 MHz activity is located in
more populated areas...there is no such activity here in Montana at all.
I once thought about building an amplifier for 220 MHz and getting on that band,
but all my activity would have to be via EME. Since there simply wasn't very much
EME activity on 220 MHz, I decided to build an amp for 6m and get on that band
instead ;-) At least on 6m, I can work Es and some rare F2 (during the peak of
the solar cycle) from here.
But I have forwarded your email to several weak signal VHF groups, and I am sure
if any of them have members interested in 220 MHz antenna designs, they will
contact you directly. You also may want to consider submitting a paper for
publication with some 220 MHz antenna designs to some big VHF groups such as the
Central States VHF Society.
Thanks again and good luck with the new 6m antenna at your new QTH!
VY 73, Lance
