Hi Don,

Thanks for the up date at your end and my 1296 sig. report. Your sig. was
also very gud copy S2 to S3.
Tell me more about your solid state T/R switch? I use a DPDT micro wave
coax
relay to bypass the amp if needed.
See you on 2mtrs during the week and on 1296 Friday!

Hi Ralph:

Your signals were fantastic Friday evening. The CW was strong, but it
wasn't until you switched to SSB that I realized just how Q5 you really
were. Guess that explains why you copied me. I was still using the
solid-state rig, having just received and installed a replacement
Mitsubishi module. The solid state T/R switching in that amplifier is
flaky and has caused it to overheat again... so I have that to
investigate today.

The water cooled amp is running but I've decided to go very slowly with
it. I'm going to take some time (maybe a lot) to calibrate my various
wattmeters, to get amp in/out relays installed and to get a proper and
reliable sequencer operating. After all, it's a hobby. It's time to learn
how to use some of the test gear I've accumulated!

I expect to be with you on Friday evening, but probably at the noise
level again.

Don
