Good morning all,

Several of us Northern California folks will be on 1296.100 this morning at 0930 local looking south. We will call on the first 30 seconds of the minute, listen for the second 30 seconds etc.

Conditions seem to have been quite good this week as reported by both Jim W6PQL as well as Ralph K6TSK in their net reports. In addition, both Jim and I are copying N6XQ/b quite well now that Jack has completed the repairs to his antennas. Yesterday I observed long periods of tropo propagation with signals 10-20 dB above the noise floor on Spectran and the strong and steady copy by ear. Interesting to see Spectrans display of Jack's beacon with simultaneous display of tropo and airplane reflections!

Beyond the San Diego beacon, both Jim and I had new initials with Gordo WB6NOA in Costa MesaDM13. Gordo is running a new 100W PA and it sure works. One further note is that Jack N6XQ and I completed a 650 KM two way on April 4th for a new grid for me as well as best DX on 23 cm. Jack was running 30W to the pair of loopers he uses for the beacon.

Hope to hear you all at 0930.

  Best 73's.

  Chuck NA6XX
