When hearing of Bill's passing I realized that not only had we lost a fellow
member of the amatuer radio community, I had lost a good friend.  As Mike
said, Bill had a great sense of humor.  I will miss his "butt-ugly" (another
story...) response to something I might say to him, and his King David 6
Victor November Quebec closing as we ended a rag chew late at night.  King
Arthur 6 Victor Quebec Victor is already missed.......

Very sorry to report that Bill, KA6VQV, my co-net control for the Northern
California 432 Net, unexpectedly passed away this last Monday morning.

Bill will be remembered for many things, including his wonderful sense of
humor, stacking way too many long yagis on a push-up tv mast, late night
ragchewing on the VHF/UHF bands, and an irrepressible interest in cars,
namely, autocrossing with Corvettes. He was definitely a champion at the
latter-most activity.

A memorial, which I expect will be more a positive celebration of Bill's
life than a somber event, will be held at the Dante Club, 2330 Fair Oaks
Boulevard (across from the Pavillions), in Sacramento, at 7:00 PM, on August
5, 2006. Bill wouldn't have it any other way.
