These stations were heard and logged on 1296 here in Northern Cal:
WA6KLK - CM89, Willits
K6QXY - CM88, Santa Rosa
WA6UAP - CM97, San Jose
N6KLD - CM97, San Jose
NA6XX - CM97, San Jose
K6TSK - DM03, Anaheim
W6QIW - DM04, Santa Barbara
KC6SEH - CM98, Broderick
KJ6KO - CM98, Diamond Springs
WA6QAK - CM98, Pollack Pines
W6IZU - CM98, Diamond Springs
Local propagation on 1296 was average; I did notice the possible presence
of an inversion, which made stations on the "other side" at altitude
weaker. The long path was good, with some evidence of ducting (steady
contacts, with weak-to-fair signals). Ralph and Steve were in there for 30
minutes, with a couple of decent s3 peaks on ssb. Weather here was cold,
with no wind.
902 activity was WA6QAK, W6QIW, KC6ZWT, myself and W6IZU, who was on with
3 watts and an indoor antenna. Despite the modest antenna, Ken was s2 here
in Fremont, about 100 miles away. Steve's signal was fairly steady
tonight, with one monster peak around 8:45, which he and I attribute to a
large aircraft or a UFO...happens at the same time of night every week.
73, Jim
