Yup,
It's hard to believe...the KH6HME 10 GHz system went out today for
delivery to Paul in a couple of days. Paul needs to fab and mount a
couple of shelves for moving things around in the shack and will get
the system installed. We will have pictures on Paul's web site of
the new installation when completed.
System specs on X-band are as follows: 10.3 watts and a 1.6 db noise
figure at the feed horn. WR90 waveguide and a W2IMU feed is used
for the .6 f/d Prodelin offset feed 48 inch Ku band 40 dbi dish. The
10+ watts is from a Hughes 1177H TWT amplifier. Converted LNBs for
the preamplifiers and direct up/down conversion to 28 MHz using N6CA
band pass filters. The entire system is frequency locked to a Ball
Rubidum frequency standard which has the LO 1 Hertz high.......!
When it operational I will post to the reflectors. Pictures of
xband equipment are at:

We also shipped new hardline connectors and cables for the 2 meter
rebuild of the feedline and antennas. Paul will now be running a
pair of 7 element M2 yagis pointed at my house (kidding) from the
Mauna Loa volcano site. He has new antennas, new phasing lines and
feedlines and new filters for the beacon and the 2meter repeater.
These upgrades are possible through donations from WSWSS, M2,
WA6CGR, WA6VHS and N6CA and a lot of work & time from Paul KH6HME and
Fred W6YM soon to retire over there.
