Dear Friends,
Greetings,
Next weekend is the ARRL VHF Sweepstakes. Last year our group, (W6TE) took 9th in the Nation for Multi-op contest station. That is a tremendous honor considering the West Coast's topography and Ham density compared to the East Coast.
I see a real advantage this year for the west coast.... the East coast is plagued with a freezing cold front out of Canada and the weather factor will take its toll.
We are fortunate this January in that there are several rovers from Southern California with microwave equipment (up thru 10 GHz.) that will be roving.
Lets get out in force and see if we can take some awards away from the East Coast.
The W6TE Multi-Op team will be operating from Fresno State College, DM-06 with the following equipment:
50 MHz., 100 watts, 6 ele beam
144 MHz., 1500 watts, EME array (22 dbd gain) 4 X 2m28XP
220 MHz., 200 watts; array 4 X 11 el (18 dbd gain)
432 MHz., 1500 watts; 4 X 13wl (24 dbd gain)
Microwave:
902, 10 watts, 30 elements
1296, 10 watts, 45 elements
2304, 1 watt, 30 elements
2304, 1 watt, 30 elements
3456, 100 mw, 30 elements
10 GHz, 100 mw, 20" dish
Hope to see you in the contest!
73,
Dave / W6TE
