Just looking for some signal reports...

For about a year, I've been planning a beacon complimentary to the one
Jack (N6XQ) is hosting from DM12jr. This new one is a 30-watt "sea level"
beacon intended for the coastal path between Northern and Southern
California. It will eventually be located in CM97am, about 2 miles South
of my home station, with the antenna array pointed 145 true. This should
cover 130-160 true at the 3db beamwidth of the intended array, which will
consist of 4 short Yagis stacked vertically, and horizontally polarized.
Total ERP will be 3kw, and my hope is to cover all of the coast, and as
far inland as the high desert area of Southern California.

I'm currently running it through its initial shakedown at the home
station. During this initial testing, it may not be on continuously (it
will be off from 7 to 9 P.M. on Tuesdays and Fridays, for example).

Frequency - 1296.340 MHz, locked to an OCXO reference
Transmitter Power Level - 30 watts
Antenna / Feedline gain - 20 dbi
Antenna direction - 145 true
Current location - CM97an
Message content (repeats) - de W6PQL/b CM97an (followed by 10 dashes)

73, Jim - W6PQL
