Don (W6GYD) was operating from ~2500ft in the Santa Cruz Mountains
tonight, and reported an inversion layer over the Bay Area at ~2000ft.
Conditions were poor into the Sacramento Valley, but good down the coast.
Steve (DM04), surprised us when he called in through one of the local
stations here about 2 minutes prior to his schedule, and ran about s3 for
a minute or two. Bob (K6QXY) heard him peak as high as s9. Steve also
reported hearing Pat (WA6UAP) in San Jose...Pat was talking to me at the
time, running 10w, and pointed 180 deg away from Steve.
Mike (CN82) was heard by Len (CM89) on the 8:39, 8:54, 8:56, 8:58 and 9:08
sequences, the best being a brief tropo peak of s1 at 8:39. Bob (CM88)
reported hearing a few pings from him also. Mike's idea of scheduling in
the morning sounds like a good idea...
Thanks to all for participating, and hope to see you all next week
