Good participation last night from all over; stations acknowledged here were:
WA6UAP - CM97, San Jose
WA6KLK - CM89, Willits
K6MYC - DM06, Friant
W6IZU - CM98, Diamond Springs
K6NC - CM98, Wilton
WA6QAK - CM98, Pollack Pines
K6QXY - CM88, Santa Rosa
K6TSK - DM03, Anaheim
W6QIW - DM04, Santa Barbara
N6XQ - DM12, San Diego
K7XQ - CM97, Atwater
Seems like it was an evening to be below whatever inversion was there;
K6QXY reported gusty winds and unsettled conditions at his location
(2500ft) and poor propagation. Here in Fremont on the valley floor, it was
better, having been calm and in the mid-60's during the day. WA6KLK, also
at altitude in Willits, was below normal signal levels, with multipath and
rapid QSB. K6TSK was readable here on almost all sequences, including a
nice peak on SSB. N6XQ was Q5 during the first 5 sequences; earlier, at 4
PM, Jack's beacon was 10 db above the noise and steady. K6MYC was stronger
than normal, with less QSB.
Weather is predicted to be warmer than normal over the next few days, so
perhaps that will help out on Friday...
