I think we had a bit of help from the fog just off the coast tonight, as
Steve did pretty well, s9+ into Santa Rosa on SSB, and S3 or so here. Big
change from the last couple of weeks when we were barely able to hear each
other on CW. Ralph was good for an SSB exchange also, but weaker this time
around. Too far inland for the fog to assist, I guess.

>From the Sacramento Valley and East, Bill (K7NOM), who is on the valley
floor, had the top signal here in Fremont, a bit of a flip from the last
couple of weeks when Ken and Bill (WA6QAK) did better up there from their
perches at 3-4000 ft. Jeff in Atwater was readable with just 15 watts. I'm
guessing temperature inversion, aiding those of us near sea level, and
attenuating the boys above it.
