[WSWSS] FT-726R Frequency Display Problem

I have a problem where the frequency display on my FT-726R is extremely
dim 
where I have to shade out any glare to read it . 
( I actually just bought this radio used from a HAM back East and
testing it out, 
all seems fine except the frequency display brightness ).
 
Is there a way to increase the brightness of the frequency display ???
