Hi Chuck:

I know this is a topic of some discussion already, down south, but let me
tell you how I view it from up here in the cold, dark, waselands of the north.

If there is no organized check in process for the L A net on Wednesday night
the activity on 2 meters will drop off even more. I for one, will probably
not make the same effort to be there, even on an occasional basis. Last
night as far as I know, no one else checked in from Bakersfield north.
That's pretty poor, but since others cannot hear anyone calling up north (two
weeks now), they are already tuning out and not showing up.

I don;t blame your Dad at all for not wanting to keep the net duties. It's
not a piece of cake, and he has paid his dues anyway. It's up to the younger
guys to pick up the responsibility. It's also a responsibility that can and
should be passed around monhly or yearly, to lighten the load.

So that' my two bits worth. Feel free to pass my comments around to others.
I'm flameproof, at least in the fog of the north.
