hi - thanks to KC6ZWT, W6IZU, and WA6QAK for giving me an on air check
tonight of this new transverter. I hope to be popping up again soon when I
have a few more dB of power and a rotatable antenna.
I should mention that this transverter is a new kit available soon from
Elecraft - they are offering 50, 144, and 222 versions (and 432 and maybe
higher are said to be in design). The design is simple and modular, and
works very well with an Elecraft K2, but is also designed to work with any
other 28MHz rig. The transverter can be tuned up using an appropriate
wattmeter, dummy load, and DMM.
For info, the Elecraft web site is here:
http://www.elecraft.com/
You can download the manual from the web site if you want to examine the
schematics etc. The manual download page is here:
http://www.elecraft.com/K2_Manual_Download_Page.htm
A direct link to the current XV manual (all three versions):
http://www.elecraft.com/manual/XV%20Transverter%20Man%20Aug20.pdf
I don't have a financial interest, just helping with the field test. I'll
try my best to answer questions if you have any that aren't answered in the
manual.
thanks! - jeff wk6i
