[WSWSS] Subject: HAM RADIO ROUNDUP REMINDER!

Hi,

  This Saturday, August 16th, from 1000 to 1500 will be the Annual Ham
Radio Roundup.  Event will be held at the Hilltop Community Recreation
Center, 9711 Oviedo Way (San Diego) near Mt. Carmel High School.

  There will be a free barbeque and sodas plus a potluck if you feel
like bringing something.  There will be a raffle (50 cents a ticket),
the grand prize is an ICOM T-2H 2 meter handheld plus some ARRL
handbooks.

  The ARRL will be represented at the event by Art Goddard, W6XD
(Southwestern Division Director)who will be there later in the day, Tuck
Miller, NZ6T (Southwestern Vice Director) and yours truly Kent Tiburski,
K6FQ (San Diego Section Manager). This is a great opportunity to renew
your ARRL membership, join ARES or RACES, volunteer for a Section
Appointment and get your Southwestern Division Convention registration
from Tuck!  We'll have information on upcoming license classes and FCC
testing and much more!

  We will have various clubs setting up stations plus the State OES Comm
van, San Diego County Sheriff's Comm van and the Red Cross comm van.

  If you plan to attend, please bring a chair as there is very limited
seating.  The park offers an excellent view of San Diego and Miramar to
the south and the coastal areas (if clear).  There is an excellent
playground for the kids, so bring your little ones.  For more
