I hope there will be a new flush of operators soon based on the interest in
the WSJT demo I gave at M^2. Over 300 people were in attendance at the
open house.
As for myself, I have been very inactive recently due to work and other
obligations and the only permanent antennas I have up are for 6m. Any
other activity is based around contests/meteor showers/skeds and/or
expeditions, where I setup antennas just for those events.
The west has always been a black hole for VHF. Aside from activity centers
in the Pacific Northwest, Vegas, Phoenix, and CO there is a lot of open
space. California is for some reason under represented, but I have noticed
a sharp decline in activity over all out here lately.
