Hey Laddy,

Just a note to say I am still alive. I ended up buying a manufactured
home and lot in Murrieta Hot Springs which is a 55+ community. It is a
pretty large community with around 1,100 homes/lots total. The one I
bought is 24 years old and not one of the newer ones with the 6" walls
and drywall interior but it was cheap.

I got tired of living in the dirt and the BS required to put a home on my
two acre property. The latest requirement they put on me was that I would
have to install a water storage tank that the fire department could hook
up to in case of a fire on the hill. Of course this would all be at my
expense so all the costs involved developing the property before the
house can be placed went from $25,000 five years ago to almost $65,000
today. When you combine the added costs and the fact that I got tired of
living in the dirt and going up and down that dirt road every day, I
decided the hell with it.

I will try it here for a year or two and see if I still want to live
here. I can hardly believe I bought a place with a homeowners association
with many restrictions but I am getting to the point that I really don't
care any more. It is nice and quiet here with lots of nice people, they
are just old (like I'm not?). They have many social events, a pool,
billiard room, weight room, an indoor and an outdoor spa, a banquet room,
a library and a meeting room with a big screen TV.

I really don't miss the radios and have decided to get back to my life
long interest of cars, car rallies and motorcycles instead of radio. I
have coffee every morning with a couple of golfers who want me to learn
their game but I am really not into golf. The Resort Hotel/Casinos out
here have good Entertainment and good Buffets. The new Pechanga Casino
has a huge buffet with every kind of food you could imagine and it is all
good. I am going to the new Harrah's Resort Hotel/Casino on Tuesday to
check it out too. They have specials for seniors on Tuesday at Harrah's,
so that is why I am going on Tuesday. Pachanga pays me $5.00 just to show
up at their casino one a week (actually credit on my Rewards Card). The
credits can be used for merchandise, food, hotel room or use to gamble.
They give you a scratch off card for each week of the month so when you
go in you scratch off to see how much you get credit for on your card.
You are guaranteed $5 but can also win $10, $20, $50 and $100 so it is
worth while to at least check in each week.

I am not a gambler but I do save my pocket change and will play that
whenever I go there. I like to go there at least once a week to eat at
the Buffet anyway. The meal cost $8.49 for all you can eat and when you
figure they give me $5 to show up then it really only cost me $3.49 to
eat a great meal. The main dish counter must be 100 feet long or better
and there are two salad bars (not duplicates) and a dessert island with
at least twenty or more different desserts including pies, cakes,
cookies, cobbler, ice cream, etc., etc., etc.

I guess what I am trying to say is that "Life is Good", "Retirement is
Great"!
