Pete,

The Clear Speech works  in the mobile well on constant noise.
It does not work on noise sources thay are variable, such as spark plug
noise that varies in cadence and intensity.  Nor does it work on alternator
whine that changes frequency.

The unit works by sampling the audio coming in and any thing that is
constant, such as heterodynes, white noise, it cancels it out.  I was told
it worked on mother in-laws  well.

No matter what, they work better than anything on the market.  I got my
second one a couple weeks ago and as an experiment I place them is series
and found it to be even more effective on 2 meter ssb white noise.  Thought
I had the squelch to high.
