Why have they chosen to pick on the contestors. WHy
not public public service news on the web instead, or
special event station/hamfest listings, or any of the
other columns which probably have a limited audience?
How many people really read about the space station
working another school, or about a public service
event in Georgia? Or articles about how to built a
dipole. It would seem that putting the product review
on the website instead would make more sense, but it
would also tick off their advertisers. The ARRL keeps
complaining how we don't use our bands enough, we are
going to lose them, etc etc. Contests are one way
that helps the bands to get utilized, and introduces
people to new bands and or ways of operating.
