Forgive me if this e-mail shows up a second time. I sent it to the WSWSS
Reflector but I never saw it appear in my inbox.

I just checked the results of the VHF contest poll on the ARRL website. The
breakdown is that 684 people voted "YES" that they did participate in the
VHF contest. Unfortunately, the "NO" votes won the poll with a combined
total of 1105.

How can we as the WSWSS get more people involved in not only contests, but
weak signal activity. I haven't checked, but I would be willing to bet that
the majority of the licensees are no-code techs. These guys/gals are prime
targets for the weak signal community. What can be more boring than talking
on 2 meter repeaters all day long? Can you imagine being involved in a
dynamic hobby like ham radio and spending your ham career on repeaters? We
need to show these people that with some minimal antennas and power, they
can get involved in the exciting weak signal activities like tropo, meteor
scatter and EME.

What's the next step?
