I've received a couple of inquiries on the transverter and I thought I
might clarify things a bit...

The low level transmit stages are exactly as shown in the ARRL Handbooks
through the early 90's (it's built on it's own etched PC board) and has
plenty of power output to drive the DEMI PA stage. I have resistive pads
to bring to utilize the drive that I had available and the pads can be
changed easily for a lower drive requirement. The LO (on the DEMI VHFLO
PC board) is built in it's own enclosure, which is, in turn, mounted
inside the Hammond box for adequate isolation from the mixer and low
level TX stages. The receive converter is built dead bug style with a
dual gate GaAsFET front end (one of WA5VJB's old circuits), MCL SBL-1
DBM (properly terminated in a diplexer) and a 2N5901 post amp at 28MHz.
The receive converter is excellent and seems to be immune from the
effects of *big* signals, whether local or VE1YX, who put my S-meter
against the peg a couple of weeks ago. :>)

When I say the system is not real pretty I mean that the DEMI PA stage
and PIN TR switch die cast boxes and the PA bias/PIN TR switching relay
are mounted on top of the larger Hammond box, which looks odd and
requires more interconnecting cables than might otherwise be utilized,
but the transverter is constructed carefully and works very well.
Documentation for all modules is included with the transverter.

I hope this answers everyone's concerns...thanks,

Jack, W7PW

> 1) HB 6-meter transverter/10-meter IF. Receive converter and low-level
