you will find the switch from the BC-679 ( 769 ? )  tuning units more than 
adequate. for the power level

But wait... isnt that a shorting type switch which adds more capacity with 
every click ?

Pretty darn sure it is.

Not as  ordinary 5 pole selector switch.
So better get that part right !

BTW... if your switch is just frozen...

I have had good luck making new shafts for the switch.

Like wise... if the ceramic is broken.. but essentially all there... it can 
be repaired with epoxy ( not metal filled type )   Not my first choice, but 
do-able.
