The only problem with the sewing machine foot switches is that most include a rheostat that has to be removed. Some people find doing this "difficult" while others have no problem.
I have my foot switch routed through a switch so that I can use it on all of the rigs that I normally use including two S-Lines, a Heath SB-110A, and a Heath SB-401. The Heath gear has been modified so that the PTT works on CW as well as SSB.

Thanks for the heads up Glen. I need one to run CW with my S line. A good place to look for those critters is sewing machine related businesses.
