[WRL] Kit Horror Stories / WRL Screen Modulator

Hi Glen and others. That reminds me of an instance about 35 years ago.
When I first started my two-way radio business I'd change the batteries in
your flashlight for a buck. Someone, a ham whose name and call I've
fortunately forgotten brought me a small short wave radio kit of some sort.
The complaint was that it blew fuses. I took it in, opened it up and none
of the leads on any components had been cut or shortened. Yep, I fixed it,
had to buy food you know, got it working and called him to come and get it.
I should have bought it from him, but I needed the money. If anyone out
there ever started a business from scratch they know what I'm describing.
BTW the business lasted 35 years and I sold it and retired over 2 years
ago. Much more time for DXing, and rag chewing. 73 Larry W9HTK
