Good afternoon, all -
Last month I was diagnosed with a treatable variant of leukemia. My prognosis is very good, I am responding well to the medication after the first month of unpleasant side effects. Going forward I am expected to live a normal life, with only the need
for a daily pill and frequent blood tests.
After discussing this with Ray, our Section Manager, I have decided to delegate some of the tasks I had been doing. This seems to be a prudent way forward, particularly if my health should change.
Effective immediately, our ASEC Gil, WK1H, will take primary responsibility for membership and the database. He is intimately familiar with these functions, so please make sure any prospective members or persons with membership or database questions are
pointed to him. He may be reached at
gilwk1h@gmail.com.
Also, our SM has agreed to appoint John Rokicki, KC1VMZ, as our new ASEC for Net Operations. John has been very active in voice and digital nets and will bring a new perspective to increasing net participation and usefulness. Please point anyone with
net questions or ideas to him. I am asking that all net managers and net control stations copy John on your net activity reports going forward. He may be reached at
kc1vmz@gmail.com.
Please join me in congratulating John on his new appointment!
Finally, my thanks to each of you for everything you do. I appreciate you and look forward to working with you going forward.
