I will send you an email putting you in touch with the Ashfield Emergency Management Director, who would like to discuss the possibility of hosting us at one of his shelter sites.  The two of you can decide if this is a location you would like to staff or not.

Please let us know as soon as you know about the generator power for your repeater.  Sounds as if it would be a fine asset.  Do you know if it covers down to Agawam?

Since our Leyden repeater (146.985) is in the same building as the WPVQ FM radio station and the NOAA weather station I’ve emailed the WPVQ station engineer to find out if during a grid down situation, our repeater will also be connected to their backup generator. Our club members don’t seem to be sure either way. I will let you know as soon as I hear back from him. Our repeater, since it’s recent antenna and feed line updates, now seems to be accessible to many people all the way down to the Connecticut line using only HT‘s on 5 W.
