Thanks, Tom!

I encourage our SET planners to envision a scenario where Army MARS can be a part of the whole.  The ARES mission could assist or complement MARS in accomplishing objectives.

What sort of scenario would you like to see?

Severe weather - ice storm, tornado, hurricane, flooding
Natural disaster - wildfires, earthquake, pandemic, solar storms
Man-made disaster - Cyber attack, terrorism

Or, something else?

Define the scenario first, all else flows from that!

Chuck, All,

To the extent that there is information sharing with Army MARS, I can
offer my support.

I've got zero information on anything that is planned for this timeframe
from Army MARS HQ so far, but I'll share what I can to include it in the
scenario.

There IS going to be a celebration of the 100th anniversary of MARS in
the October time frame. It will involve a series of military stations
transmitting a coded message by CW on a few (non-amateur) frequencies
over 4-5 days. There will be a "one time pad"  in the form of a single
page used to decode the message, available to everyone in advance so
that the random CW characters can be translated into a meaningful
message. Send in your copy and get a card.

I have been promised that the message will not be "Drink more Ovaltine".
