Good afternoon to you all -
I hope you all had the chance to participate in Field Day this past weekend! It can be a great chance to practice setting up a station and making contacts under challenging conditions. It gives us a chance to practice our skills every year.
I was at the Northern Berkshire ARC Field Day site in Windsor, where we had 4 stations on generator power. Preliminary results are 500+ contacts, over half on CW for the double points, and over 1200 bonus points. We hope to be well over 4000 points total once all the logs are collected.
A special thanks to the Southwick Radio Group, the Mount Tom ARC and the CMARA for sending formal written traffic to me as your Section Emergency Coordinator. All three messages made it to me on Sunday!
In addition to the practice in setting up stations, making contacts and passing traffic Field Day is a social event. NoBARC had pulled pork, salads, breakfast to order and lots of other goodies. Twenty-five people participated, and we signed up two new club members. Field Day is a chance to connect (or re-connect) with friends both old and new.
If you missed out this year, mark your calendar for the 4th weekend in June of 2026!
