The question came up as to how the listing of participating stations is collected. After each ARES net the NCS is asked to send the list of stations checking in to their DEC or EC, with a copy to me. This allows the DEC/EC to gather the data they need to submit their monthly Form 2 report of ARES activity. I use the data to monitor member activity, since ARES Level 2 requires a net check in every calendar quarter.
Some nets may not be ARES nets, so those would not be collected. Some NCS may not report check ins, or may not copy me on their emails, so those would not be collected.
Generally, once I send out the quarterly list of check ins I get a few additional emails with more check ins. Hopefully this will gradually become less as time goes on.
If you are an NCS for an ARES net, please make sure to report your check ins to your DEC/EC, and thank you for your work in running our ARES nets!
