[Wma-ares] SET volunteer update

Chuck,

I was just rereading all of the SET emails that have been going
back-and-forth and noticed on this email there is an Ashfield shelter that
is presently unmanned. Do we have a shelter there that I am presently
unaware of, and If there will be one, please let me know and I will try to
recruit someone for that site.

Since our Leyden repeater (146.985) is in the same building as the WPVQ FM
radio station and the NOAA weather station I’ve emailed the WPVQ station
engineer to find out if during a grid down situation, our repeater will
also be connected to their backup generator. Our club members don’t seem to
be sure either way. I will let you know as soon as I hear back from him.
Our repeater, since it’s recent antenna and feed line updates, now seems to
be accessible to many people all the way down to the Connecticut line using
only HT‘s on 5 W.
