Presentation Subject:  Behind the Curtain:  The Emergency Alert System (EAS)

The Emergency Alert System - a national warning system in the United States designed to allow authorized officials to broadcast emergency alerts and warning messages to the public via cable, satellite, or broadcast television, and both AM/FM and satellite radio.
 
Our presenter is Chris Tarr, CPBE, AMD, DRB, CBNE.  Chris (W9JOL) is Group Director of Engineering for Magnum Media, a Wisconsin radio group of 25 stations from Racine to Eau Claire.
 
Chris is also chair of the Wisconsin State Emergency Communications Committee (SECC) and works with broadcasters, local and state government, as well as FEMA and the FCC regarding the state EAS network.
