Hi all,

The summer certainly has gone by quick here - a lot of things that I had planned to do didn't get done. Shame on me.

A summary of the July 2023 Board Meeting is on pages 64 and 65 of the October 2023 QST. 
For more details of this Board Meeting, see the minutes at https://www.arrl.org/board-meetings. 
If you have any questions, Vice Director Brent Walls N9BA and I will be glad to answer your questions.

The Central Division Convention is on the horizon. It will be at the Fort Wayne Hamfest this year - November 18 and 19. If you make it there, stop by the ARRL tables to say hello. Josh Johnston KE5MHV (Director of Emergency Management) will be coming from HQ.

As for VOTA (Volunteers On The Air), the second ARRL W1AW/9 Illinois operation begins on December 6, and it is being organized by Thom W9RY (IL SM). 
The second W1AW/9 Indiana operation begins on December 13, and at the moment it is being organized by me. 
These two one-week periods should offer great propagation on the higher bands (15m and 10m).

Finally, I will be at the W9DXCC Convention in the Chicago area this weekend (September 15, 16) and at the HRO Superfest in Milwaukee (it's the Wisconsin State Convention) the next weekend (September 22, 23).
