 A reminder

FLARC is hosting ARRL Field Day this weekend.

We will of course be at Badger Prairie County Park, 4654 Maple Grove Dr, Verona, WI 53593.

Setup begins at 8am and we kick off 24 hours of operation at 1pm.

All are welcome to visit and operate, even better if you help setup Saturday morning and/or tear down Sunday afternoon.

We will be running four HF stations, (15m, 20, 40, 80m) off two End Fed Half Wavelength antennas. Plus 10m off a dipole, 6m off a 4 element Yagi and possibly 144/432MHz weak signal along with 2m FM on 146.520.

Please keep the weather forecast in mind. The temperature will be around 90F with not a cloud in the sky. Bring and apply sunscreen as needed. We will have ice cold fruit punch Gatorade on hand as well as bottled water.

Consequently Saturday night and Sunday the forecast is calling for rain. We will be hanging tarps around the shelter to keep water out. What's a Field Day without the usual night time rainstorm right?

Picnic starts at 5pm. Burgers and brats will be provided along all all the side dishes.

I will be hiding a micro transmitter somewhere in the park. Fox hunt is at 3:30pm.

If you are not planning on visiting but still want to participate in ARRL Field Day, you can operate from your home station with your own call sign and submit your individual scores to be counted towards our club’s aggregatescore.

See you on the bands!

Nicholas Lager, KB9SKW
