5/24/2019 - Time is running out.  The Trek 100 is next Saturday, June 1.  I
need 25-30 volunteers but as of today I only have about 15.  The kids that
the MACC Fund helps need YOUR HELP NOW!!  Please sign up as soon as

Your help is needed!  On June 1, 2019 the MACC Fund and Milwaukee ARES will
be holding the TREK 100 bicycle ride.  We need your help as amateur radio
volunteers.

 

The MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) raises money for
research into childhood cancer and sickle cell anemia.  The MACC Fund has
held  the TREK 100 since 1990 and Milwaukee and Madison ARES have been
involved since 1994.  This is our 26th year of service for kids with cancer!
As such we have helped to raise millions of dollars for cancer research.
Now, your help is needed!

 

Amateur radio volunteers fill varied posts during the event including SAG
vehicle and rest stop communicators, net control operators and management
shadows.  Depending on your assignment your time commitment varies.  The
ride is held between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Many assignments are as short
as a few hours with others spanning the entire ride duration.  The TREK 100
begins and ends at the TREK Bicycle Corporation headquarters in Waterloo, WI
with three routes travelling to the north and south.  Volunteers may be
placed anywhere along those routes.
