Subject: SKYWARN: Storm Spotter Training March 4th
March 2, 2014
Annual storm spotter training schedules are firmly set up across the country and within Wisconsin.
Listings will appear on NWS (National Weather Service) web sites or under their Skywarn tab.
A state wide list covering the Badger state can be found on our Milwaukee Area Skywarn Association web page: http://www.mke-skywarn.org/schedule.htm Programs scheduled with our southeast Wisconsin partners are also listed.
Unless noted, programs are free and open to the public, some may require registration.
You don't have to be a spotter to attend and you can attend any program in any county or go as often as you would like.
Check with the sponsoring agency as seating can be limited at some events. Most programs run about 2 hours.
NEXT PROGRAM:
March 4, Waukesha Co, Waukesha,
7-9PM, Carroll University's Center for Graduate Studies,
2140 Davidson Road (between radio tower and water tower), Lower Level, Room LL14.
There are two on-line programs we encourage everyone to take prior to attending a local Spotter talk.
These national on-line programs will provide base-line training while attending a local program fills the gaps missing with the on-line content.

"Skywarn Spotter Convective Basics" https://www.meted.ucar.edu/training_module.php?id=816
Your E-mail address and selecting a password will create your on-line account to the above programs, but it also gains you access to many other training modules.
PRINT YOUR OWN GUIDE: "The Weather Spotter' Field Guide" is a 68 page full color guide to being a SKYWARN spotter, printed by the National Weather Service, it has nearly 100 high quality photos.
Beware: Some unscrupulous publishers are charging for this booklet. Do not pay! Its free, all you have to do is print it!
