Annual storm spotter training schedules are firmly set up across the country and within Wisconsin. 
Listings will appear on NWS (National Weather Service) web sites or under their Skywarn tab.
A state wide list covering the Badger state can be found on our Milwaukee Area Skywarn Association web page: http://www.mke-skywarn.org/schedule.htm Programs scheduled with our southeast Wisconsin partners are also listed.

Unless noted, programs are free and open to the public. You don't have to be a spotter to attend and you can attend any program in any county, or go as often as you would like. 
Most programs have an in-person instructor, but a few programs (Webinars) have the instructor in a remote location. Check with the sponsoring agency as seating can be limited at some events. 
Most training programs are about 2 hours long. The first program is set for March 4th in Waukesha.

There are two on-line programs we encourage everyone to take prior to attending a local Spotter talk. 
These national on-line programs will provide base-line training while attending a local program (live or webinar) fills the gaps missing with the on-line content.

PRINT YOUR OWN GUIDE: "The Weather Spotter' Field Guide" is a 68 page full color guide to being a SKYWARN spotter, printed by the National Weather Service, it has nearly 100 high quality photos.
