Subject: New E-Mail Group
Greetings,
I invite you to join a Yahoo E-Mail group that we formed recently.
If you have been looking for a way to explore more aspects of the ham radio hobby and more easily keep in touch with fellow operators, we have a way to allow you to do just that.
Joe, WB9SBD, on behalf of the Yellow Thunder Amateur Radio Club, has set up the YTARC page on Yahoo Groups.
This E Mail Group is called the YTARC Group, As in the Yellow Thunder Amateur Radio Club, BUT it is NOT!! Just for YTARC Members.
Anyone interested in Amateur Radio is encouraged to join. Spread the word, let others know about this Group!
These groups are set up so that, once you join, all of the messages that anyone in the group submits to the group, will automatically be sent to all the members of this Group as well as your regular email address.
In addition, any messages you get from this group, you can reply directly to these messages, and your reply will go out to every member in the group.
Conversations will be grouped by their subject and you can go back and review them at any time.
This is a great way to ask other group members for suggestions or help on projects, share operating tips and tricks, upload photos or files, or keep up on what everyone else has been up to.
Matt KC9UPE made the first posting describing his station and stations capabilities. And I likewise did the same.
This then started a pretty interesting discussion about Matt's 80 meter dipole that he uses on all bands.
It shows how yes a Antenna Tuner makes your transmitter happy with a good SWR on all the bands, BUT...... and there always is a “BUT” isn't there? It also showed what the consequences of doing this the way Matt has this 80 meter dipole set up. It was very enlightening.
You do not necessarily need a Yahoo ID as you can also sign in via your Facebook or Google account.
To join the group visit https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/YTARC/info and
click the “Join Group” button at the top right.
You can leave at any time if you decide you don't like it. But please try it and join in.
As said you can leave any time you want. But Please try it out. You may like it and find it a very valuable resource.
When signing up, We prefer that you set the way you get your messages to be via your E-Mail account.
This way when a message is posted, you will get it right away, and you do not have to "Remember" to go to the web page to see if there are any new messages.
Also, when setting up the E-Mail delivery, make it so it is sent as separate E-Mails, NOT the digest mode. This way makes it much easier to reply to postings. And keeps all the topics separate too.
In addition, if you have the messages sent to your E-Mail, you will not have to deal with the web page itself, which has become really hard to use after some recent changes to the way they work that was made by Yahoo.
The system is totally transparent if you use the E-Mail method. You would never know you were using the group unless you actually look at the E-Mail address.
You can Swap photos, Share files, Make polls, Add calendars, Share links, and more with other members. Plus enjoy many more ways to show and tell 24/7.
Once joined please go on the web page and go to the first message posted. The oldest and lowest message number. it is message #6 You can simply jump to it. You can see how once there.
Then read all the old messages by hitting the next button this will allow you to see the interesting conversation we had about Matt's dipole, and then have you all caught up.
We hope to see you in the group soon! If you have any questions Please ask!
“Best Regards”
Joe WB9SBD
