Subject: [La Crosse Hams] KA9FOX operating as W1AW/9
Several operators in Wisconsin, including me, are operating as W1AW/9 until Tuesday night at 6 pm, as part of the ARRL's 100 Year (Centennial) Anniversary.
There is a special commemorative QSL card that will be available for those working the various W1AW portable stations.
Some are also working the W1AW portable stations on various modes and bands, as they are each worth "points" toward the year-long Centennial QSO Party.
Most of the operation has focused on HF, so I thought it might be fun to get on VHF and work some local stations, especially for those that do not have HF setups... but certainly everyone is welcome to call.
If you would like to work me as W1AW/9, I will be on 2 meters and 6 meters at the following times and frequencies TONIGHT:
8:00 PM: 146.52 FM Simplex
8:30 PM: 144.200 SSB
9:00 PM: 50.125 SSB
I do not have a vertical/omni antenna, so I will be swinging the beam around looking in different directions.
If tonight does not work for you, but you still want a contact, feel free to email me and I will arrange a schedule for whatever bands/modes work best for you.
I can operate as W1AW/9 only through Tuesday night at 6pm.
