Subject: SKYWARN: 2014 Storm Spotter Training

Annual storm spotter training schedules are now forming across the country and
within Wisconsin. Listings will appear on NWS (National Weather Service) web sites or
under their Skywarn tab.

A statewide  list covering the Badger state can be found on our
Milwaukee Area Skywarn Association web page:
http://www.mke-skywarn.org/schedule.htmPrograms
scheduled with our southeast Wisconsin partners are also listed.

Unless noted, programs are free and open to the public.
You don't have to be a spotter to attend and you can attend any program in any county,
or go as often as you would like.

Most programs have a in-person instructor, but a few programs (Webinar)
have the instructor in a remote location.

Check with the sponsoring agency as seating can be limited at some events.
Most training programs are about 2 hours long.

There are two on-line programs we encourage everyone to take prior to attending a local spotter talk.
These national on-line programs will provide base-line training while attending
a local program (live or webinar) fills the gaps missing with the on-line content.

"Skywarn Spotter Convective Basics" https://www.meted.ucar.edu/training_module.php?id=816

Your E-mail address and selecting a password will create your on-line account to the above programs,
but also gains you access to many other training modules.

PRINT YOUR OWN GUIDE:
"The Weather Spotter' Field Guide."  Is a 68 page full color guide to being a SKYWARN spotter
printed by the National Weather Service and has nearly 100 high quality photos.
