WeComm, Ltd. is a Wisconsin non-profit, tax-exempt organization created to construct
and maintain dedicated voice and digital networks for WI ARES/RACES. While Bill
was Wisconsin's ARES SEC, several large activations demonstrated the need for a dedicated
communications infrastructure ARES/RACES teams could count
 on to help
them better communicate on behalf of their served agencies. Construction began in
2006, and as the network nears completion in 2013, Bill will discuss the challenges,
successes and use of the network. For the diehard ARES/RACES member, technophile
and those interested in Ham
 Radio.

With so many digital sound card modes being developed it's easy for new or old modes
to get lost in the shuffle. A discussion of some new or old underutilized modes such as:
ALE400, a relatively modern digital contact QSO and chat mode that provides 100%
error free contact. FreeD, a new digital voice mode that reduces bandwidth and
increases SNR over analog SSB, and Feld-Hell, a mode originally developed in the
1920s, but today soundcard software is still being developed today that is compatible
with older Hellschreiber teleprinters. Darren also covers the latest advancements in
digital soundcard modes.
