Anticipating Hazardous Weather And Community Risk, 2nd Edition.
IS-271a

Is a updated version (May 2012) of a previously
released program prepared by UCAR's
Cooperative Program for Operational
Meteorology, Education, and Training (COMET) division.
This is the
same agency responsible for the recent  'Skywarn' and
'Understanding Weather
Radar' training modules.
This lastest offerring covers the following:

Weather
Basics
Weather Forecasting
Threat Analysis and Hazards Planning
Fact Sheets for Weather and Non-Weather Related Hazards
Warning
Parnterships Information
Human Bahavior and Community Response
A
Desktop Exercise To Apply What You Have Learned.

While the primary
audience is emergency managers, I suspect even they will have difficulty
with some sections. However, I encourage everyone to browse thru the
program, you will
enhance your understanding of the many aspects of
hazardous weather.

As with other COMET produced programs,
registration is required (your E-mail address
and select a password).
Course length is about 8 hours.
