Subject: [amateurradiomilwaukee] VoIP Presentation - Janaury 19 at 7pm - Waukesha State Bank

IP Telephony
What is It?
How Does it Work?

Internet Protocol (IP) based telephony – once a "business only" venture it has become a more household term over the recent years.  Trouble is – how does IP telephony work and how does it compare to the telephone systems that we still see in our homes and businesses?

A presentation on Cisco IP Phone Systems is being hosted by the Southeastern Wisconsin FM Amateur Repeater Society (SEWFARS.)  The topics include basics on "how it works", what equipment is used and a little detail about the makeup of a IP phone system.  This should be a great experience for all attendees!

The presenter will be Mike Gordon from FIS.  Mike has spent the last 10 years on engineering, installation, programming and service of Cisco IP telephony systems.

The presentation is January 19, 2012 (this coming Thursday) at:

Waukesha State Bank
1709 East Racine Avenue
Waukesha

The bank branch is on the corner of Racine Avenue and Highway 164 on the Southeast side of Waukesha.

The start time is 7pm and should last no more than two hours.  Light refreshments will also be served.  Anyone interested in attending is invited!
