Subject: [amateurradiomilwaukee] Picnic and Special Event Operation

This Saturday, August 11, will be the annual Milwaukee Area Amateur Radio
Society (MAARS) / Milwaukee Radio Amateurs' Club (MRAC) Picnic.  It takes
place at Greenfield Park, Picnic area #2.  Setup starts at 10 AM, Food
starts at Noon

At the picnic, MRAC will continue its yearlong celebration of its 95th
anniversary of continuous operation (longer than all but a handful of other
non-school clubs in the country).  If you didn't work W9RH in the FM Simplex
Contest in Feb, or be one of the 200 or so stations that worked W9RH on HF
live from Superfest at the end of March, you have one more chance to get a
95th Anniversary certificate.  W9RH will be active on the MRAC repeater
(145.39 MHz, -600 KHz, 127.3 Hz CTCSS) from 1 PM until 4 PM.  W9RH will also
be active on HF during the same time.  Start looking around 14.290 MHz USB
(just remember for this operation we will be using portable antennas).
Check the repeater for more last minute frequency info on Saturday.

If you work W9RH either send a QSL card to the club (with your email
address) or email the club with the QSO info and you will receive a PDF
certificate via email.  If you wish a certificate via regular mail, send a
large SASE to the club P.O. Box.  Club contact info is available on the club
web site - www.w9rh.org.  While on the club web site, feel free to download
the club history book PDF file (all 113 pages of it).

If you would like to be one of the station operators, we can always use your
help.  Station operators receive a special operator certificate.

See you in person or on the air (or both) Saturday at Greenfield Park.

73,

Dave WB9BWP
