   Weak-signal VHF/UHF'ers like a challenge, right? I have
exciting news to share about one VHF'er meeting a huge
challenge.

There are 72 counties in WI and on Labor Day, W9RPM
John worked his 72nd and final WI county, on 2m SSB/CW/FM
Simplex. As such, he is the first winner of the WIVUCH
(pronounced Wee-Vooch) Award.
WIVUCH stands for WIsconsin V/UHF County Hunters.

W9RPM did this from a QTH that is in the Mississippi River
valley. It's an astonishing achievement and one we hope will get
the attention of active V/UHF'ers everywhere. If you want more
info, visit kc9bqa.com and read the Sept. 4th and 5th posts.

Remember that WIVUCH is open to both WI and out-of-
state hams. Visit www.wivuch.com to become familiar with our
rules and start working toward your certificate.
To get a nice initial certificate, work 20 WI counties on any
combination of bands, 50 MHz and up. (Repeater and satellite
contacts are not eligible.)
Contacts made on/after Jan. 1, 2010 are eligible. Contacts
can take place at anytime -- band openings, contests, ragchews.
Take some time to visit www.wivuch.com Once there, click
around and see sample certificates, downloadable county maps
of WI and the latest WIVUCH news.

Thank you W9FZ Bruce for creating and administering the
WIVUCH website.

We've all heard VHF'ers pursuing grid squares for VUCC.
What would a *county*-hunting program on V/UHF do for
activity levels in your state or region?

     Enjoy the possibilities, 73,
     Todd KC9BQA EN63ao 40 N of Milwaukee
